RAWLINS PIANO TRIORawlins Piano Trio

The Rawlins Piano Trio has distinguished itself as a leading American chamber music ensemble. Founded in 1987, the Trio performs regularly throughout the US and abroad, including prestigious concert venues, television and radio broadcasts, appearances at conferences and educational outreach to young audiences. In 2004 and 2006, the group made successful concert and teaching tours throughout Taiwan. Their expertise in interpreting 19th and early 20th century American music has resulted in three CD recordings. Another performance specialty includes the complete works for piano trio by Beethoven, with portions of the series on historical instruments. The versatility of its members finds them equally comfortable in performances for school children to sophisticated classical music audiences, and as teachers of beginners to college level and graduate level students. The artists are on the faculty of the University of South Dakota music department and include Susan Keith Gray, piano; Eunho Kim violin, and Marie-Elaine Gagnon, cello. The Trio is available for concerts, workshops, school visits and master classes.
Technical requirements: Well-lit performance area large enough for three musicians, well-maintained piano, three chairs, two music stands. For concerts, piano tuning is required and grand piano is preferred. Additional concert needs are a page turner for the pianist and a back stage waiting and/or warm-up area.
Fee structure: Performance $1,200 to $2,500, Master class, K-12 presentation or workshop up to $500. SDAC support up to 50%.
