Public Domain Tune Band
The Public Domain Tune Band was formed 30 years ago by Nick Schwebach and Owen DeJong
when they discovered their common interest in music from America’s Big Band era. During the
“Roaring 20’s” America was inventing a new music identity based on Jazz rifts, lyrics that expressed
optimism and the struggles of the pending depression, all set to a unique musical structure and
rhythm.
The music adapts to the Public Domain Band acoustic setting of guitar, violin, and bass in
the Jango Reinhardt musical tradition. The music and performance brings back musical performance
from the early days of radio broadcasting and recording.
Technical Requirements:
Stage Area - 20ft by 10 ft,
the band supplies it's own sound system. If the event has a sound technician,
PDTB require 2 vocal microphones and 3 instrument in-puts.
Fee structure: Performance $600 to $1,000. SDAC support up to 50%.
