CHRISTOPHER ROBIN JOHNSON, GUITARIST

Christopher Johnson loves to play the guitar—and it shows. He has delighted audiences of all ages in the US, Canada, Europe and China and, most of all, in hundreds of South Dakota performances. His concerts offer an intimate collection of great music from around the world, as well as traditional American favorites performed on a variety of instruments from guitar to guzheng. The famous Carlos Montoya called Johnson “a great guitarist…well trained. He expresses great feeling in his music.” Public radio and television have presented Johnson’s performances in numerous broadcasts. Workshops or residencies can be tailored to the needs of each sponsor. In a workshop for youth, up to twelve half-sized guitars can be provided. Johnson’s love of music and musical variety ensures an enthusiastic response from any audience.
Technical requirements: Adequately lighted performance area and an armless chair. If acoustically necessary, presenter should provide an adequate sound system. Microphones and equipment up to the sound system board will be provided. Full sound system available upon request.
Fee structure: Performance $800 to $1,300, Workshop/master class $100 to $250, Youth guitar classes negotiable. SDAC support up to 50%.
