JAZZ PORTRAITSJazz Portraits

Jazz Portraits, a five-piece jazz ensemble, presents a repertoire of jazz classics by composers such as Duke Ellington and Thelonious Monk, along with standards by great American songwriters like Cole Porter and George Gershwin. The group also showcases bossa nova, the blues, and original music by band members. The group, with trumpet, saxophone, piano, bass and drums instrumentation, has performed at the Sioux Falls Jazz Festival, was featured on South Dakota Public Radio, and recently released a new CD of jazz standards and originals. The members of Jazz Portraits have extensive performance credentials throughout the Midwest. In addition, the group has a strong background in education, with several of the members also working as professional educators with elementary and secondary students and at the university level. Serious inquiries may contact the group for a sample CD. 
Technical requirements: A recently tuned acoustic piano is preferred. If not available, the group can supply its own electric piano. Electric power for amplifiers close to performance area.
Fee structure: Performance $400 to $1,500, Workshop/Master class $200 to $300. SDAC support up to 50%.
