DAKOTA JAZZ COLLECTIVE
Dakota Jazz Collective is a horn-driven ensemble featuring some of the finest jazz talent in the region. Notable performances include two live broadcasts on South Dakota Public Radio, the Sioux Falls JazzFest and monthly performances at South Dakota’s premier jazz club, Touch of Europe. DJC performs a wide variety of repertoire including jazz standards and originals. Music from Miles Davis to George Gershwin to new tunes penned by members of the band, with solo improvisation taking center stage, means you’ll hear familiar music with a new twist. DJC musicians are also able to offer an educational concert setting, the Jazz Diversity Project. This multi-media program is presented by the Sioux Falls Jazz & Blues Society and offers a performance-based look at the history of jazz. Dakota Jazz Collective is also available for special events, concerts or educational performances.
