GOING FOR BAROQUEGoing for Baroque

Going for Baroque will take audiences back in time to experience the flavor of the music scene in centuries past. Listeners will enjoy the unique sounds of this four piece (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) recorder ensemble, performing repertoire from medieval to recent times. Selections include baroque, classical, marches, ragtime, hymns and holiday pieces for concerts and special events, as well as Celtic and Renaissance arrangements for festivals and dances. Recorder demonstrations, historical commentary and period costumes can be included in the program if desired. Performances can be tailored for schools or other educational purposes. Students will receive their own soprano recorders to keep as part of the workshop and residency programs.
Technical requirements: Sound system for microphone, four armless chairs, well-lit performance area, and protection from the elements if outdoors.
Fee structure: Performance $500 to $1,200, Workshop, clinic or class $250 to $800, Residency (two days) $800 to $1,600. SDAC support up to 50%.
