TERMESPHERES AND LECTURES
Termespheres are globular paintings which hang and rotate from ceiling motors at a floating speed of one revolution per minute. A six-point perspective system organizes a total environmental world including north, south, east, west, zenith and nadir. The observer sees the painting on the convex or outside surface. The paintings grow from solid geometry and the subject matter deals with concepts which can be expressed only on the limitless properties of the sphere. The exhibit will consist of the artist hanging a group of Termespheres and Polyhedron paintings for three to four weeks. Termes also does lectures on his work and workshops on perspective and polyhedra as well as drawing workshops. His art does very well at integrating art with mathematics and science.
Technical requirements: Overhead projector, digital projector (if possible), screens and a lecture room capable of being darkened.
Fee structure: Exhibits $500 to $2,500, Workshop on perspective $500 to $1,000, Workshop on polyhedra $500 to $2,000, Drawing $500 to $1,000. SDAC support up to 50%.
