Mila Belakova

Mila BelakovaAn award-winning pianist, accompanist and teacher, Mila Belakova was educated in Orenburg, Russia at one of the oldest and most prestigious music colleges in the country, the Rostropovish Institute of Arts, where she studied under a Russian student of Tchaikovsky’s.

Mila taught piano, music theory, and music literature; accompanied string and wind instrument soloists and ensembles; and played for choirs and classical ballet dancers at the Pushkin Municipal Children’s School of the Arts (a special experimental preparatory school and after-school youth program for music and arts) in Orenburg, Russia.

She moved to Rapid City, SD in 2007 and immediately began playing solo recitals and accompanying for arts groups and college and high school events. Mila currently has a piano studio where she teaches piano and music theory.

Technical requirements: Grand or baby grand piano is preferred; however, a tall upright is acceptable. The piano should be tuned to standard pitch. Sufficient lighting for reading music. A hand-held microphone if a concert/talk is requested.

Fee structure: $250 - $500, SDAC support up to 50%.
