ROBYN STARKS HOLCOMB With over 20 years experience throughout the Midwest as a musician, actor, dancer and choreographer, Robyn Starks Holcomb teaches the elements of dance to people of all ages. A motivating teacher, Starks Holcomb holds a Master of Arts in education, is a nationally certified Cecchetti instructor, and serves as a guest educator for colleges and universities, in-services, seminars, and additional arts programs. She is on the dance faculty of the Dance Gallery of South Dakota, LLC in Sioux Falls, and her unique style of choreography has been seen on the stages of professional, community and high school theater associations, as well as area churches. Her high energy residencies will introduce students to a full range of dance styles, including Hip-Hop and Broadway, leading to a community or school performance. In addition to teaching dance as athletic art-in-motion, Starks Holcomb designs her residencies to expose students to the art form as a fun, non-threatening experience for girls and boys alike. She promotes dance as a form of exercise and healthy lifestyle, and also encourages students to relate their academic skills to the tasks at hand. Residencies with Starks Holcomb can also be constructed around a community or school need for a professional choreographer for a musical or theatrical production. Starks Holcomb currently prefers to accept residencies in the Southeastern region of the state. Grade levels: Pre-K-12
